The Department of Arabic Language and Literature at the University of Haifa, Israel, invites applications for a position in Modern Arabic Literature, with a preference for candidates specializing in modern Arabic poetry, pending budgetary approval.

Successful candidates will be expected to teach course at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, supervise theses, and perform regular non-teaching duties. The language of instruction in the department is standard Arabic.

Candidates holding a PhD, with post-doctoral studies, academic teaching experience, and a strong publication record are invited to email a cover letter, CV, list of publications, and research and teaching statements. They should also arrange for three recommendation letters from senior scholars. These should include recommendations from the PhD supervisor, and the post-doc advisor, if relevant, to be sent directly, along with the referees’ contact details, no later than 10 October 2025, to Noya Perlman at: npearlm1@univ.haifa.ac.il
