The 86th Annual Meeting of the Southern Historical Association will take place at the Sheraton Memphis Downtown in Memphis, Tennessee on November 19-22, 2020. The 2020 Program Committee — Kendra Field, Tufts University; Joseph P. Reidy, Howard University; and Randy Sparks, Tulane University — invite proposals on all topics related to the history of the American South from its pre-colonial era to today.
The SHA accepts proposals for single papers, traditional sessions, and roundtables. If you have a compelling case, you may also propose content in an alternative format. Please ensure that all proposals adhere to the following rules:
The SHA values diversity. Ideal panels will represent a diversity of age, sex, rank, race, affiliation, etc. Ideally no two people from the same institution should be part of the same session, nor should partners or mentors/mentees be on the same session, unless they are co-authors who are co-presenting and sharing both the responsibility and the credit.
