The Allen and Joan Bildner Center for the Study of Jewish Life at Rutgers University-New Brunswick invites applications for the position of Aresty Visiting Post-Doctoral Scholar for the 2020-2021 academic year.
In 2020-21, the Aresty Visiting Scholar is a one-semester (fall or spring) appointment to a recent PhD (earned no earlier than 2016) in any field of pre-modern (i.e., pre-18th-century) Jewish Studies.
The post-doctoral scholar will pursue research while at Rutgers. The scholar is expected to be in residence in the university area and to be actively engaged in the intellectual life and outreach programs of the Bildner Center and the Jewish Studies Department. The post-doctoral scholar’s responsibilities may include giving a faculty seminar or participating in other forums to contribute to the Department of Jewish Studies and the Bildner Center.
