A group of researchers of the Weiss-Livnat International Center for Holocaust Research and Education at the University of Haifa seeks a researcher for the span of two years to participate in an international research on Holocaust memory in Europe.
The project is a comparative study of the changes taking place in Holocaust memory in five countries; Germany, Hungary, Poland, Spain, and the UK. The research will focus on three aspects; National-political public discourses regarding WWII and Holocaust memory. Attitudes of Holocaust educators on Teaching and Learning about the Holocaust. Social media discourse from platforms such as Twitter and Facebook.
We seek a postdoctoral fellow in the field of Communications, Political Science, Sociology, or Psychology who specializes in digital communication research, preferably with research experience in Holocaust memory, antisemitism, attitudes towards Israel, or collective memory.
We offer half a postdoctoral fellowship from our Center. We support the submission of applications for further scholarship, productive collaborations, article publishing and academic writing opportunities, conferences, data collection funding, and research assistants from various countries and Israel. The ideal candidate has experience working on large-scale research projects and academic publishing. They should work well in a team and be highly motivated and enthusiastic for contemporary research.
