The Crown Family Center for Jewish and Israel Studies and the MENA Languages Program at Northwestern University invite applications for a part-time Lecturer in Hebrew language, to start on or after September 1, 2020. The successful candidate will teach one section of Introductory or Intermediate Modern Hebrew per academic quarter. This is a non-tenure track position, renewable annually subject to enrollment, available funding, and positive performance.
Candidates must have an advanced degree (MA or PhD) in Jewish Studies, Israel Studies, Linguistics, Education, or a related field, and should preferably have experience in teaching Hebrew as a foreign language at the college level, or have a substantial record of teaching and curricular/program development in a non-college setting. Specialized training in second-language acquisition, second-language pedagogy and/or assessment is highly desirable.
