Assistant Professor of Philosophy and History of Ideas
The History and Philosophy Program at The University of Texas at Dallas invites applications for a tenure-system assistant professor of Philosophy, with a specialization in Non-Western Philosophy, including East or South Asian, Arabic and Islamic, African / Africana, Latinx / Latin American or Native American / Indigenous Philosophies.
Applicants should have a PhD in Philosophy or a related field in hand by date of appointment. Teaching responsibilities include courses and student supervision in the Philosophy B.A. and History of Ideas M.A./Ph.D. program. We will prioritize candidates who can teach one or more core Philosophy courses, such as Formal Logic, Introduction to Ethics, or the History of Philosophy surveys. We are also interested in candidates who have a competency in philosophy of race and those can contribute to African-American, African Diaspora, Asian, Latin American and Religious Studies. Ours is a small and growing philosophy program, and the successful candidate will be able to fill multiple needs and will have the opportunity to design new courses including new core curriculum courses.
