“תנועה במפות, מפות בתנועה” מבקש לטעון כי אין להבין מיפוי של נרטיבים, תנועה ושינוי כחידוש של הקרטוגרפיה בימינו, אלא כהיבט חשוב של קרטוגרפיה בכל התקופות. המחברים השונים באוסף זה בוחנים מאפיינים והתפתחויות של מיפוי נרטיבים ותנועה, החל ממפות של חדשות שהופקו באירופה בעת החדשה המוקדמת, דרך מפות זרימה (flow maps) שהופיעו באטלסים שונים במאה התשע עשרה והעשרים, וכלה בתנועה דיגיטלית, אינטראקטיבית, ומותאמת אישית המיוצגות במפות עכשוויות. במקום להציג היסטוריה ברורה והומוגנית מהעבר ועד ימינו, ספר זה מציע ארגז כלים להבנת יחסי הגומלין המורכבים בין נרטיב, תנועה ומפות.
