Tenure-track position in English Literature (open rank), Ben-Gurion University of the Negev
The Department of Foreign Literatures and Linguistics at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position (open rank) in English literature (open to all areas of specialization), to begin October 2022.
We are a research-intensive department with undergraduate and graduate programs in literature and linguistics (both taught entirely in English); we seek a literary scholar for the present opening. While our literature track focuses primarily on English and American literatures, we also have strong comparative literature and cultural studies components. Scholars specializing in multiple literary or theoretical fields are thus particularly encouraged to apply, as are scholars with a PhD in comparative literature or cultural studies, whose work has a solid foundation in literatures in English.
In addition to teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, faculty members are expected to engage in research, supervise graduate students, apply for research grants, foster professional ties with scholars and institutions abroad, and contribute to the intellectual and administrative activity in the Department and BGU. Although teaching and research are conducted in English, a working knowledge of Hebrew is required to integrate successfully into the University.

Interviews will take place in Spring 2022. Candidates must have a PhD in hand by the application date.
