The lecture will look at women who co-created the Ringelblum Archive, the Underground Archive of the Warsaw ghetto. It will discuss their impact on the way in which women’s experience of the Holocaust was portrayed in the Ringelblum Archive and how their contributions reflected their own specific experiences of ghetto life.
The event will be moderated by Noam Leibman from Moreshet.
Dr hab. Katarzyna Person is a historian of Eastern European Jewish history, working in the Jewish Historical Institute in Warsaw, currently a 2020-2022 Maria Skłodowska-Curie Fellow at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität, Munich. She has published on the history of Jews in Poland during the Holocaust and in the immediate post-war period. Her next book, co-written with Johannes Dieter-Steinert on the concentration camp for children in Łódź, will be published in 2022 by Palgrave-Macmillan in the „Holocaust and its Contexts” series.
