At the University of Vienna (15 faculties, 4 centres, about 188 fields of study, approx. 9.700 members of staff, more than 92.000 students) the position of a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Theatre, Film and Media Studies is vacant.
Duration of employment: 4 year/s
Extent of Employment: 20.0 hours/week, which include a teaching assignment of 7 hours scientific classes on average per semester
Job grading in accordance with collective bargaining agreement: §48 VwGr. B1 lit. b (postdoc) with relevant work experience determining the assignment to a particular salary grade.
Job Description:
As a senior lecturer you will be mainly involved in teaching in the study programme Theatre, Film and Media Studies. Your main area of work will be teaching in basic areas of Film Studies, including theory, analysis and history of film and cinema.
We expect the successful candidate to remain up to date with the current state of research, to undergo continuing education and training in didactics and to conduct research when no classes are being held.
In addition, the University of Vienna expects the successful candidate to fulfil administrative tasks, in particular the administration of teaching.
In case of a positive evaluation at the end of the term of employment, the employment contract may be extended for an indefinite period of time
Profile:
Prerequisites for a successful application / admission requirements:
1. Doctoral degree/PhD
2. Several years of teaching experience at a post-secondary educational institution
3. Proven teaching competence in all basic areas of Film Studies
