The Bud Shorstein Center for Jewish Studies at the University of Florida invites applicants for the Alexander Grass Chair in Jewish Studies with a concentration in Latin America and the Caribbean.
This is an open rank, tenured/tenure track faculty position to begin August 16, 2024. The position is open to specialists in any discipline in the social sciences and the humanities. The professorship includes an endowment intended to promote original research and program development in the Shorstein Center for Jewish Studies. A successful candidate must have an active research agenda and must be able to integrate the study of the Latin American Jewish experience into theoretical and comparative contexts that speak to the needs of the Shorstein Center. The successful candidate will also be affiliated with and work closely with the University’s Center for Latin American Studies. There is also an expectation for the development of programming and links with Latin American Jewish communities in Florida
