Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Digital Humanities at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem 2024-2025
The Research Center in Digital Humanities at the Hebrew University DH@HU seeks an excellent candidate for a post-doctoral fellowship in digital humanities for the academic year 2024-2025. DH@HU is a leading interdisciplinary research institute focused on the development and application of digital and computational approaches to the study of humanistic objects.
The post-doctoral fellowship is competitive and will be awarded on the basis of academic excellence.
Candidates for the fellowship must have a Ph.D. in a relevant field, conferred no more than five years prior to the start date of the fellowship. The candidate must present an original research proposal that combines a digital or computational component with one of the disciplines in the humanities.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on their own research project while also participating in the research activities of DH@HU. They will receive mentorship and support from the center’s faculty and staff, as well as access to state-of-the-art facilities and resources.
The fellowship includes an annual scholarship of 120,000 NIS (appx. 30,000 euros or 32,000 US dollars; the scholarship is paid in NIS). The fellowship term is 12 months, starting in October 2024 and ending in September 2025. The post-doctoral fellow is expected to live in Israel for the duration of the fellowship and to work at the center in Mt. Scopus, Jerusalem at least 3 days a week.
Applications for the post-doctoral fellowship must be submitted by April 30, 2024, and should include a CV, publication list, and research proposal of max. 3 pages, and two letters of recommendation (only one from the dissertation advisor). After the initial selection process, the leading candidates will be invited to an online interview with the faculty of the center.
