Academic Studies Press is pleased to announce an open call for manuscript submissions for its book series, Studies in the History and Sociology of Music, edited by Olga Manulkina (Saint Petersburg University).
Studies in the History and Sociology of Music presents different perspectives on the cultural and social history of music and musicians. We welcome an interdisciplinary approach, and especially projects that promote or encompass research that cross-cuts what had formerly been mutually alienated or isolated categories and fields. Of particular interest are comparative study and critique of discourse (reception, criticism, historiography). Another area we hope to foster is the study of mixed media, including opera, ballet and music theater, from a multiplicity of perspectives and against a multi-colored, always expanding background.
