UNIVERSITY OF ROCHESTER, Rochester, NY. Tenure-track, Assistant Professor, starting July 1, 2019. AOS: Social and Political Philosophy. AOC: Areas that would be helpful include philosophy of law, feminist philosophy, philosophy of race, and practical and professional ethics. The Department of Philosophy seeks candidates with outstanding research credentials who can work productively with colleagues and doctoral students on matters of global justice, democracy, decarceration, and other topics in the areas of specialization and competence. Excellence in teaching at diverse levels of instruction is essential, and potential for contributions to the university’s Susan B. Anthony Institute for Gender, Sexuality, and Women’s Studies or the Frederick Douglass Institute for African and African-American Studies will be an important consideration.
