Call for Papers: The Journal of Feminist Studies in Religion
The Journal of Feminist Studies in Religion is seeking article submissions that further feminist theory, consciousness, and practice. Submitted articles must demonstrate awareness of feminism as a social movement, and/or offer a critical feminist analytic framework, and/or show a clear interest in the transformation of religious studies as a discipline or in broader social change. The JFSR is not restricted to any one conception of feminism and seeks to represent the widest possible range of feminist perspectives on religion, including womanist and mujerista perspectives. The editors are particularly interested in material that examines how categories of identity such as gender, race, sexuality, class, age, ability, ethnicity, nationality, and structures of inequality are mutually constituted and must be understood in relation to one another.
The JFSR welcomes material from and about all religious traditions and historical periods, as well as articles that question the category of “religion” or consider religion from secular perspectives. As always, we seek to strengthen our international profile. To that end, we have committed resources toward featuring multi-lingual publication of specific content.
Articles should be typewritten in Times New Roman font (including any non-Roman characters), double-spaced, around 7,500 words (including footnotes) and must include a 150-word abstract.
