Revolution and Evolution: Models of Change in Science, Culture and Society
National Research Lobachevsky State University of Nizhny Novgorod, together with RAS Institute of Philosophy, Russian Society for History and Philosophy of Science and Kozma Minin Nizhny Novgorod State Pedagogical University, invites you to participate in the Second All-Russian (with an international participation) Scientific Conference “Revolution and Evolution: Models of Change in Science, Culture and Society” (22 – 24 November 2019).
Current dynamics of our time highlights a renewed philosophical interpretation of the phenomenon of revolution in its most diverse dimensions – social, cultural, scientific, technological, and anthropological. In the context of the dynamically changing outlines of contemporary world, it is the analysis of the revolutionary development model that is becoming the key to understanding current trends and phenomena. A revolution might be contrasted to an evolution as an opposing model of changes in science, culture, and society. A choice between them or a comprehended rejection of this alternative facilitates both elucidating the current state of social existence and delineating further ways of its development.
We invite philosophers, scientists and scholars, undergraduate and postgraduate students interested in the history, current state, perspectives, and new opportunities of development for science, society, and culture. The Conference proceedings will be indexed in the Russian Science Citation Index (RSCI; Russian: РИНЦ). Extended versions of the best papers will be published in leading peer-reviewed academic journals.
The Conference Organizing Committee welcomes an active cooperation in the organization of sections, round tables, presentation of books and journals on the subject of the conference. Proposals are accepted at the conference e-mail: philosconfnn@gmail.com.
