Post-Doctoral Fellowship
The Zalman Shamir Department of Bible at Bar-Ilan University invites you to apply for a Post-Doctoral Fellowship for the 2019-2020 academic year.
Areas of specialization include any area within Biblical Studies. Applicants should be able to teach courses in Modern Hebrew.
The Fellow will teach one semester-long course in the Department of Bible and will take an active part in instruction, research, and all other departmental activities.
The fellowship is for the academic year and begins in October 27, 2019. In some cases the committee will consider a one year extension.
The fellowship provides a 7,500 NIS monthly non-taxable stipend.
The stipend includes monthly wage and monthly rent subsidy (without regard to family size).
Candidates will have a PhD degree in hand; they will have submitted their dissertations in Biblical studies or in a kindred discipline within the past six years.
Candidates must submit:
- The application form in its entirety;
- CV and list of publications;
- A research proposal;
- Two letters of recommendation
- A detailed description of courses the candidate can offer
All the above must be sent in a single email message to the Department of Bible (bible.dept@biu.ac.il) by March 15, 2019.
