The pos­i­tion holder will work on a par­tic­u­lar aspect of their choice within the scope of the bi-national pro­ject “Jew­ish Pimps, Pros­ti­tutes, and Cam­paign­ers in a transna­tional Ger­man and Brit­ish Con­text, 1870-1940”.

• Pub­lic­a­tion of research find­ings as a mono­graph and in journ­als (the pos­i­tion is suit­able for any­one wish­ing to fur­ther their aca­demic qual­i­fic­a­tions)
• Present­a­tion of research find­ings at (inter)national con­fer­ences and sym­po­sia
• Act­ive involve­ment in organ­iz­ing and lead­ing aca­demic and pub­lic pro­grams (col­loquia, work­shops, con­fer­ences, events with external cooper­a­tion part­ners, etc.)
• Close col­lab­or­a­tion with the pro­ject leader and UK pro­ject part­ners at Queen Mary Uni­versity

• Suc­cess­fully com­pleted uni­versity degree (Mas­ter, Dip­lom or equi­val­ent) and PhD in his­tory (focus­ing on 19th/20th cen­tury)
• Know­ledge of lan­guages rel­ev­ant to the pro­ject, such as an East European lan­guage (Pol­ish, Rus­sian, Yid­dish) or Hebrew
• A deeper under­stand­ing of Jew­ish his­tory, the his­tory of Anti­semit­ism and gender his­tory demon­strated by rel­ev­ant pub­lic­a­tions is desir­able
• Com­pet­ence in the use of MS applic­a­tions and lit­er­at­ure data­bases
• Excel­lent know­ledge of the Ger­man and inter­na­tional archive land­scape and struc­tures as well as out­stand­ing research skills within the areas of Jew­ish his­tory, the his­tory of Anti­semit­ism and gender his­tory
• Excel­lent Ger­man and Eng­lish skills
• The pos­i­tion requires excel­lent com­mu­nic­a­tion and team skills as well as out­stand­ing sub­ject expert­ise
