University of Illinois at Chicago via Zoom
APRIL 8-9, 2021
Polish Studies at the University of Illinois at Chicago is pleased to announce the Sixth Workshop for Historians of East Central Europe to be held virtually through UIC on April 8-9, 2021. The workshop is open to faculty and graduate students in history and related disciplines. It will be based on pre-circulated papers, dissertation chapters, article drafts, etc. Participants are welcome to attend either as paper presenters or as members of the active audience.
The main purpose of the workshop is to introduce scholars working in related areas to one another, to showcase work in progress, and generally to facilitate a sense of community among historians of East Central Europe. Workshop participants will provide brief overviews of their submissions during panel sessions and receive extensive comments and suggestions on their work from colleagues. Registration for the workshop is free.
Please contact Michał Wilczewski (mwilcz5@uic.edu) if you are interested in attending the workshop. Indicate in your e-mail if you would like to circulate a paper for discussion (and a synopsis of no more than 300 words) or simply wish to attend as an audience member. The deadline for proposing a paper topic is January 15, 2021. Pre-circulated papers should be limited to 20 pages in length and must be submitted electronically by March 22, 2021. Papers will be made available on-line to all registered participants.
