Doctoral scholarships from the Rosa-Luxemburg-Stiftung
Are you a young researcher wanting to do a PhD in Germany? Or would you like to come to Germany to spend a period of time researching for your PhD? Are you actively engaged in social projects? Then apply to the Rosa-Luxemburg-Stiftung for an international PhD scholarship. The closing dates for online application are twice a year: 1 April or 1 October. The foundation is affiliated with the German political party Die Linke (The Left) and draws on funding from the Federal Foreign Office to award scholarships to international researchers.
Who can apply?
Requirements for applicants include the following:
- enrolment at a state or state-recognised university in Germany or abroad
- university teacher in Germany as supervisor
- very good degree qualification
- social engagement
- very good command of German (B2 level)
What form does funding take?
The main scholarship benefits are as follows:
Scholarship holders receive a basic stipend of 1,200 euros per month, plus a mobility allowance of 100 euros. Funding is provided for a maximum period of two years. Scholarship holders can apply for extensions.
When is the closing date for applications?
The next closing dates for applications are 1 April and 1 October 2021.
