The Second Annual Naharaim Symposium: Carl Schmitt and the Theological Political Predicament
The Franz Rosenzweig Minerva Research Center (FRMRC) and Naharaim: Journal of German-Jewish Literature and Cultural History are delighted to invite you to the second annual Naharaim Symposium, which will take place online on Thursday, January 6, 2022, at 16:00 (UTC+2).
Aimed at hosting leading scholars, the Naharaim Symposium is a platform for discussing topics and methodologies in core research themes of the FRMRC and Naharaim. This year’s theme for the symposium is Theological-Political Predicaments. Representations of Religion and Politics in the German-Jewish Context. Prof. Leora Batnitzky (Princeton University) and Prof. Vivian Liska (University of Antwerp/Hebrew University) will present two approaches to the question of Carl Schmitt and the Theological-Political Predicament: Affirmations and Antidotes in Jewish Political Thought.
