On the basis of the new and unknown sources, Dr. Agnieszka Żółkiewska will present the fates of the painters and sculptors from the Warsaw Ghetto, their daily life, and struggle for survival. Using selected examples, she will also discuss their artistic activities and works in that period which are kept by The Emanuel Ringelblum Jewish Historical Institute.
The lecture will be accompanied by a multimedia presentation.
The event will be moderate by Noam Leibman from Moreshet.
Agnieszka Żółkiewska PhD, is a historian, translator from Yiddish and Research Fellow of the Emanuel Ringelblum Jewish Historical Institute in Warsaw, Gierowski & Shmeruk Prize laureate. Her publications include translations and commentary of Yiddish poetry from the Shoah and a study of the post-war Jewish intelligentsia in Poland.
