קול קורא לכנס על תיעוד בעל פה של יהדות צפון אפריקה בתקופת השואה
יום שני ושלישי, כ״ה-כ״ו בניסן תשפ”ב, 26-25 באפריל 2022
לציון יום הזיכרון לשואה ולגבורה תשפ”ב מתכוונים האגודה הישראלית לתיעוד בעל פה, המדור לתיעוד בעל פה שבמכון המחקר ליהדות זמננו באוניברסיטה העברית ומרכז תיעוד יהדות צפון אפריקה במלחמת העולם השנייה שבמכון בן-צבי לקיים כנס שיוקתפודש לתיעוד בעל פה של יהודים מצפון אפריקה מתקופת המלחמה. הכנס יתקיים במכון בן-צבי בירושלים ובמידה והתנאים הבריאותיים יאפשרו זאת או בזום. בסמוך למועד הכנס ובהתאם להנחיות יוחלט על מתכונת ניהול הכנס.
מרחק השנים ההולך וגדל מתום מלחמת העולם השנייה מחייב הרחבה מירבית של תיעוד בעל פה של יהודים מצפון אפריקה שחוו את התקופה ועדיין יש ביכולתם להעיד. אחד מיעדי הכנס הוא לעודד יהודים מצפון אפריקה למסור עדויות על התקופה ולעודד גם את בני הדור השני או השלישי לשתף בידע, בהתנסות ובחוויות שלהם.
מטרות הכנס הן, בין היתר, למפות את מצאי העדויות בעל פה הנמצא בארכיונים ובמוסדות מחקר שונים, ולהציג ממצאים מחקרים המתבססים על העדויות הקיימות, תוך הצבת אתגרים לתיעוד בעל פה לשנים הקרובות.
מנעד הנושאים שניתן לדון בהם בכנס זה הוא רחב ועשוי לכלול:
1. עיצוב הזיכרון של התקופה כפי שהוא משתקף בעדויות
2. התמודדות של משפחה ומשפחתיות
3. התמודדות מגדרית בתקופת המלחמה
4. ילדים וילדות
5. פליטים יהודים מאירופה בצפון אפריקה
6. היבטים תיאורטיים של תיעוד בעל פה: פרספקטיבה מאוחרת, הטיות, השפעת ידע נרכש
7. הדור השני (והשלישי) זוכר
8. ההכרה ביהודי צפון אפריקה כשורדי שואה
נשמח לקבל הצעות להרצאות עד יום ג’, כ”ח באדר א’, 1 במרץ 2022. ההצעה תכלול:
1. נושא ההרצאה בעברית ובאנגלית
2. תיאור של ההרצאה עד עמוד אחד
3. תואר אקדמי ושיוך מוסדי בעברית ובאנגלית
4. קורות חיים מקוצרים להצגה בכנס (בעברית)

Call for Proposals for a Conference on Oral Documentation of North African Jewry during the Holocaust
Monday and Tuesday, April 25-26, 2022
To mark Yom Hashoah 2022, the Documentation Center of North African Jews During WWII of the Ben-Zvi Institute, the Oral History Division of the Hebrew University’s Research Institute of Contemporary History, and the Israel Oral History Association intend to hold a conference dedicated to oral documentation of the Jews from North Africa from the war period. The conference will be held at the Ben-Zvi Institute in Jerusalem in the event that the health circumstances allow for it, or else on Zoom. The international panels will by held on Zoom. The format of the conference will be decided closer to the date and in accordance with the guidelines.
The growing distance from the end of the Second World War obligates maximal expansion of the oral documentation of Jews from North Africa who experienced the period and still have it within their power to testify. One of the conference aims is to encourage Jews from North Africa to transmit testimonies on the period and also to encourage the second and third generation to share their knowledge and their experiences.
The conference goals are, among others, to map the inventory of oral testimonies that exists in different archives and research institutions, and to present research findings and new approaches of interpretation which are based on the existing testimonies, while at the same time posing aims and discussing challenges for oral documentation for the coming years.
The range of topics that can be discussed in this conference is broad and may include:
- Design of the memory of the period as it is reflected in the testimonies
- The role of the family during the war
- Gender-oriented analysis of coping during the war
- Children and childhood
- Jewish refugees from Europe in North Africa
- Theoretical aspects of oral documentation: later perspective, deviations, the influence of acquired knowledge
- The second (and third) generation remembers
- The recognition of North African Jews as Holocaust survivors
Please submit lecture proposals by Tuesday, March 1, 2022. Proposals must include:
- The lecture topic
- A short description of the lecture, up to one page
- Academic degree and affiliation
- A short CV for presentation at the conference

Appel à une conférence sur la documentation orale des Juifs d’Afrique du Nord pendant l’Holocauste
Lundi et mardi 25-26 avril 2022
Pour marquer Yom Hashoah 2022, le Centre de documentation des Juifs d’Afrique du Nord pendant la Seconde Guerre mondiale de l’Institut Ben-Zvi, la Division d’histoire orale de l’Institut de recherche d’histoire contemporaine de l’Université hébraïque et l’Association d’histoire orale d’Israël ont l’intention d’organiser un colloque sur la documentation orale des juifs d’Afrique du Nord pendant la période de la guerre. Le colloque se tiendra à l’Institut Ben-Zvi à Jérusalem, si les conditions sanitaires le permettent ou sur Zoom. Les panels internationaux se dérouleront sur Zoom. Le format de la conférence sera décidé proche de la date programmée et conformément aux directives.
L’éloignement croissant de la fin de la Seconde Guerre mondiale nécessite un élargissement maximal de la documentation orale des Juifs d’Afrique du Nord qui ont vécu cette période et qui ont encore la capacité de témoigner. L’un des objectifs de ce colloque est d’encourager les Juifs d’Afrique du Nord à témoigner sur la période, mais aussi d’encourager la deuxième ou la troisième génération à partager ses connaissances et ses expériences.
Les objectifs de ces deux jours sont, entre autres, de cartographier l’inventaire des témoignages oraux existant dans les différents lieux d’archives et instituts de recherche, présenter des résultats de recherche et de nouvelles approches d’interprétation qui s’appuient sur les témoignages existants, et enfin, fixer de nouveaux objectifs et défis pour les années à venir.
L’éventail des sujets pouvant être abordés lors de cette conférence est large et peut inclure :
- Construction de la mémoire de la période telle qu’elle se reflète dans les témoignages
- Le rôle de la famille pendant la guerre
- La question du « genre »
- Enfants et enfance
- Réfugiés juifs d’Europe en Afrique du Nord
- Aspects théoriques de la documentation orale : perspectives tardives, préjugés, impact des connaissances acquises
- La deuxième (et la troisième) générations se souviennent
- Reconnaissance des Juifs d’Afrique du Nord en tant que survivants de l’Holocauste
Veuillez soumettre vos propositions avant le mardi 1er mars 2022. Les propositions doivent inclure :
- Le sujet de la conférence en hébreu et en anglais
- Une brève description de la conférence jusqu’à une page
- Les diplômes universitaires et affiliations institutionnelles en hébreu et en anglais
- Un CV abrégé pour la présentation lors de la conférence (en hébreu)
