Lecturer in Religious Studies - The University of Tennessee - Knoxville
The Department of Religious Studies at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville invites applications for a full-time (100%) Lecturer to begin August 1, 2023. This non-tenure-track position may be renewable, contingent upon the Department’s staffing needs and support from the College (and evidence of excellent teaching). The position comes with University benefits, and the University of Tennessee has a well-established promotion system for non-tenure-line faculty. The teaching load is 4-4, including “Religions of the World.” Preference will be given to candidates able to teach courses in modern Jewish Studies including “The American Jewish Experience” and “Voices of the Holocaust.” The candidate selected for this position must be able to meet eligibility requirements to work in the United States at the time of appointment and continue working legally for the proposed term of employment. The Knoxville campus of the University of Tennessee is seeking candidates who have the ability to contribute in meaningful ways to the diversity and intercultural goals of the university.
Qualifications
Demonstrated excellence in teaching and a Ph.D. in Religious Studies (or a relevant field) are preferred, although ABDs will be considered.
