Dear Colleagues,
We are pleased to announce that the Seventh International Conference on Israel and Judaism Studies (ICIJS’23) organized by Israiliyat: Journal of Israeli and Judaic Studies (e-ISSN 2645-890X) will be held in Jerusalem on December 4-8, 2023.
ICIJS’23 is the seventh in an annual conference series hold in December month: While the first in Konya in 2017, the second in Bandirma Onyedi Eylul University in 2018, and the third in Izmir Democracy University in 2019 were held in person the last three ones were conducted virtually in 2020, 2021 and 2022.
For those who cannot attend the face-to-face meeting in Jerusalem due to financial, political, healthy (Covid) personal or environmental (carbon free) limitations, the opportunity to attend the conference will be provided via video meeting.
Registration and Participation
The registration and participation processes in the conference consist of four phases totally:
application by submitting an abstract and
submitting the full text and/or research article (optional)
Accepted submissions may be presented via
a pre-recorded video presentation (with/ without live Q&A), and/or
in-person or remote presenting (with Q&A).
Fees and Services
There is no registration fee. While face-to-face participants/guests must reserve a room where the conference hold for the entire conference, or just for part of it – though as a minimum for one day, virtual presenters do not have to pay any fees for participance. The travel, transportation and accommodation expenses are the responsibility of ICIJS’23 participants. These services will be provided at a discount for the participants who want to.
City tours are the responsibility of the participants, while the tours of Jerusalem and its surroundings are held collectively in the morning for those who want to participate, the sessions will be held in the afternoon. The conference is open to all such as presenters’ family and friends as an audience.
All presenters who make in-person or remote, pre-recorded (asynchronous) presentations will receive a certificate of e-participation following the sessions.
Abstracts (with/without full text) will be published in the Proceeding and Abstract Book (with e-ISBN). Revised, complete versions of papers will be published in the …. journal or in an edited book upon referees’ decision.

(ii) Notification of Acceptance: after review process without any loss of time
(iii) Deadline for Full Text and/or Research Article Submission and/or pre-Recorded Video Submission: December 4, 2023
(iv) Conference Dates: December 4-8, 2023
Awards
ICIJS’23 is pleased to announce that for the seventh time annual awards will again be presented to the authors of distinguished Israel and Jewish studies PhD and MA dissertations and theses written in Turkey in the categories of history, politics and religion. Rewards will also be presented for outstanding academic articles and original/translated books in these fields.
Conference Topics
The conference scope includes all subareas of Israel and Jewish Studies. These include (but are not limited to) various disciplines such as current political issues, international relations, the history and sociology of Israel, as well as more traditional sub-fields of Jewish Studies. The organizers welcome proposals for panel sessions on a specific topic.
