Call for Book Chapters: Women and Leadership
This interdisciplinary volume discusses women’s leadership, representation in parliament, women’s rights, cultural barriers, and democratization process. Gender inequality remains one of the most important questions and a major barrier to human development. This edited volume (under contract with the Cambridge Scholars Press) analyses women’s leadership roles world-wide. It is a cobtribution to the growing field of leadership. We will look at real-life examples and case-studies of outstanding women, women leaders in history as well as women’s roles and participation in the Church and monasteries. We will focus on contemporary leadership theories, obstacles to women’s leadership. The current international women’s political activism, including women’s organizations, will be analyzed. A multitude of factors should be taken into account when estimating women’s participation in the international political arena. This study contributes to political science, women’s studies, feminist philosophy, business, and history. The concept of intersectionality is crucial for this work as an important analytic and methodological tool. By March 3, please send a 250-300 word abstract and your CV to Dr. Elena Shabliy eshabliy@tulane.edu.
