ISRAEL AT SEVENTY: CHALLENGES AND OPPORTUNITIES

The Berkeley Institute for Jewish Law and Israel Studies at University of California, Berkeley, in collaboration with the Association for Israel Studies, will host a half-day workshop for graduate student members of the AIS.
The workshop will be held on Sunday, June 24th, 2018, from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm, at Berkeley Law, the Goldberg Room, 297 Boalt Hall.
The workshop will expose graduate students to multi-disciplinary discussions of Israeli society, explore the boundaries of the field of Israel studies, and discuss academia-related questions such as methodology, pedagogy, publishing, and the job market. This is a unique opportunity for graduate student members of the AIS to learn more about major themes and accessible sources in current research in Israel studies – and a wide range of related subjects.
It also allows participants to meet peers in a friendly, informal environment. To register for the workshop, send your CV and a short description of Research interests to Rebecca Golbert at rlgolbert@law.berkeley.edu.
The submission deadline is April 30, 2018.
Participation in the workshop is free for AIS members.

Refreshments and light lunch will be provided.
