The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of the University of Basel invites applications for a Professorship (open rank) in Cultural Anthropology and Gender Studies, with a specialty in migration, starting 1 February 2019.
Your position
The successful candidate for this professorship in the Department of Social Science is expected both to focus on migration and mobility from the specific perspectives of the two disciplines (with an emphasis on Europe), as well as to be qualified to teach courses on the central issues and methods of both disciplines. The successful candidate is also expected to perform her/his teaching duties with commitment and engagement, supervise doctoral candidates, acquire third-party funding, and participate in university administration.

Candidates for this interdisciplinary professorship are expected to be able to perform teaching and research duties in both disciplines and to practice a wide range of theoretical and methodological approaches. Applicants should have an outstanding publication record as well as post-doctoral research experience.
