Lecturer in Medical Humanities
We are thrilled to invite applications for a three-year, fixed-term lectureship post in Medical Humanities, working across the Department of English Studies and Institute for Medical Humanities at Durham University. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate research excellence in any period of literary studies, cultural theory or cultural studies, with a central focus on critical medical humanities and a clear plan for developing their interests within one of the five IMH research strands: Embodied Symptoms; Thinking, Feeling and Imagining; Everyday Environments; The Science of Human Experience; and Critical Concepts.
There will be many opportunities to work closely with our vibrant interdisciplinary community of scholars whose work in medical humanities and English studies is recognised as world-leading. This will include contributing to existing research studies and teaching, as well as collaborating on new projects including the development of a new, research-led interdisciplinary MA in medical humanities.
