The Taube Center for Jewish Studies at Stanford University is proud to invite qualified candidates to apply to the inaugural Dr. Eli Reinhard Post-Doctoral Fellowship. The Reinhard Fellow will be appointed for two-years, beginning in the Fall of 2019.
The Taube Center for Jewish Studies draws on Stanford’s world-class, interdisciplinary faculty that includes scholars of ancient Jewish texts, Modern Jewish History, Sephardi Studies, Yiddish and European Jewish Literature, Hebrew and Israeli culture, Contemporary Jewish Life; Education, Sociology, Music, even Genetics. We are committed to:
– Promoting research and the production of outstanding scholarship
– Offering opportunities for the interdisciplinary study of Jewish history, languages and literatures, Talmudic Studies, mysticism, Sephardi Studies, and the social sciences.
– Serving as an intellectual resource for the broader community.
We invite applications from people from any disciplinary background whose research interests would complement and contribute to the ongoing efforts of our faculty and our students, and whose work promises to make a significant contribution to the field of Jewish Studies.
The Fellowship will provide a minimum annual salary of $65,000, and will include benefits. This is a full-time position, housed in the Taube Center for Jewish Studies. The Fellow will be expected to be in residence at Stanford, and to be an active member of our scholarly community. This includes being available to students participating in the Colloquium on Jews, Judaism, and Jewish Culture, and presenting one public lecture each year reflecting the progress of their research. We may explore opportunities to teach, as well. The Fellow may not undertake any other sustained employment for the duration of their post-doctoral appointment.
