Sociology with an emphasis on labour market sociology
The main duties involve teaching and research in labour market sociology. A minimum of 30 % of annual working time should be used for own research and individual development. Additional research time can be granted if the applicant acquires external funding, but a minimum of 30 % of annual working time must be allocated to teaching in the Unit for labour market studies (AKPA). Teaching refers to education at the basic level of labour market sociology and involves responsibility for courses, supervision of essay writing and examination. Teaching within the AKPA-programme currently involves organisations, management and leadership, work environment, industrial relations, and social stratification within labour markets. All teaching is currently in the Swedish language and the teaching focuses on Swedish labour market circumstances and institutions. The applicant is expected to engage in pedagogical development and participate in work within the unit.
Qualification requirements
Eligible applicants for the position of senior lecturer should hold a PhD in sociology or have equivalent research skills and have demonstrated teaching expertise.
Teaching proficiency should normally have been demonstrated through teaching experience at both the undergraduate- and master’s levels. Teaching proficiency should be well documented and in a manner that makes it possible to assess the quality of the teaching activities.
