multi-year research grant proposal
The Franz Rosenzweig Minerva Research Center for German-Jewish Literature and Cultural History and the Lafer Center for Women’s and Gender Studies at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem seek a post-doctoral level scholar to spearhead a multi-year research grant proposal for a study of German-Jewish women intellectuals from the 18th – through the 20th-Centuries.
This call is open to scholars, awarded PHD in the last 5 years (since 2014), of all nationalities and of varied backgrounds, with expertise in areas such as German-Jewish Intellectual History, Cultural History, Philosophy, and Gender Theory. Applicants must have excellent knowledge of the German and English languages, i.e. the ability to read texts in both languages and the ability to compose papers in English.
We envision a broad-ranging study which would help build up a canon of German-Jewish women philosophers, theorists, and critics, and would analyze their writings and cultural activities from the perspective of gender theory. The successful candidate will be expected to take the lead in composing a significant grant application for submission in the fall of 2019. We have allocated up to 7,000 Euro to fund the grant writing for this project.
Electronic applications should include the following documents (as a single file) in English or German and be sent via email: rosenzweig@mail.huji.ac.il :
- Curriculum Vitae
- One example of written work, max. 30 pages
- Two letters of recommendation
Applications must be submitted by January 15, 2019. Decisions will be made within two months and applicants will be informed accordingly.
