DeBenedetti Prize In Peace History
Since 1987-88, PHS has awarded the Charles DeBenedetti Prize biannually (in even years). The prize is awarded to the author of an outstanding English-language journal article, book chapter, or introduction on peace history. (To be eligible, book chapters must be published in an edited book; and introductions must be published in an edited book and must be article-length, be a “stand-alone” piece, and have the same scholarly attributes as a research article.) The prize carries a cash award of $500. Articles may focus on the history of peace movements, the response of individuals to peace and war issues, the relationship between peace and other reform movements, gender issues in warfare and peacemaking, comparative analyses, and quantitative studies.
