AOS: Early Modern Philosophy
The position is linked to Professor Ohad Nachtomy’s research project on “metaphysical and life-scientific approaches to organic beings in early modern philosophy,” funded by the Israel Science Foundation. The ideal candidate is a motivated scholar with strong antecedent interests in early modern philosophy and/or in the particular topic of the research project.
General requirements: A Ph.D. is preferable but not necessary. Strong motivation for research and the competence to do both independent and collaborative research is crucial.
Language requirements: the candidate must be able to write, edit, and prepare articles for publication in English. Reading knowledge of Latin, French, and German is highly desirable.
Teaching: one course (2 hours/week) as primary instructor and/or teaching assistance is an option to be discussed with candidate.
Salary: Net pay of 7,200 NS ($2000) per month.
Period: The position period is for 9 months and begins in October 2019 (details may be determined upon appointment). An extension of the position is possible but would depend on further funding from the ISF.
