- FALL 2020 (25:2) Teaching Asia’s Giants: China
This special section will hopefully include a wide variety of articles and essays suitable for both the humanities and social sciences. Possible topics might include human rights in contemporary China; Chinese technology: past, present, or future; ancient China’s international interactions; western and Chinese views of the “other”; Chinese diasporas and economic development; China’s physical and human geography; and contemporary Chinese-Indian relations. Deadline for initial receipt of manuscripts is APRIL 20, 2020
- WINTER 2020 (25:3) Teaching Asia’s Giants: India
Intended for the humanities and social sciences, example topics for the special section might include Hindu-Muslim relations, the subcontinent and Southeast Asia, India’s democracy: successes and challenges, classical India and the Mediterranean world, comparisons of Indian and Chinese civilizations, the urban and rural dimensions of India’s human geography, and “does caste still matter in contemporary India?” Deadline for initial receipt of manuscripts is AUGUST 1, 2020
