25 – 28 November 2019: 2nd SIMM-seminar in Antwerp
The international research platform SIMM the Antwerp Research Institute for the Arts (ARIA), University of Antwerp and the Royal Conservatoire Antwerp have the pleasure to invite applications for a place in the 2nd SIMM research seminar dedicated to the relationship between research and practice in SIMM-type projects. The seminar will take place from 25 – 28 November 2019 in Antwerp, Belgium.
This research-seminar proposes to allow post-graduate students and early-career researchers involved in ongoing research on the possible role of music in social and community work (SIMM) to spend a week together and share their research experiences.
A number of expert facilitators and researchers associated to SIMM will also be present: Dr. Graça Boal-Palheiros (CIPEM/INET-md, Porto). Dr. James Butterworth (University of Oxford, UK), Dr. An De bisschop (University College Ghent, Belgium) and Prof. John Sloboda (Guildhall School of Music and Drama, UK). Other researchers might be present but are yet to be confirmed.
Applications are expected by 31 July at the latest and are to be sent by e-mail to info@simm-platform.eu. The selection of those invited to participate in this SIMM-seminar will be communicated to all applicants by the beginning of September.
