Two Teaching Associates in Medieval History and Medieval/Early Modern History
The Department of History is seeking to appoint two fixed-term (12 months) Teaching Associates to carry out teaching, associated scholarship and administrative responsibilities to the highest standard. The first post is in Medieval History and the second post is in Medieval and Early Modern History. Applicants may state whether they are interested in both, or just one, of the positions at the application stage.
The successful candidate for the first post will have expertise in Medieval History and will be expected to contribute to the team-taught unit HIST20118 Conflict and Community and the team-taught unit HIST10042 The Medieval World. The successful candidate will also convene and contribute to the team-taught unit HIST20117 Fear and Loathing, supervise undergraduate dissertations, and undertake other teaching and administrative duties as appropriate.
The successful candidate for the second post will have expertise in Medieval and Early Modern History and will be expected to contribute to the team-taught units HIST10042 The Medieval World, HIST10043 The Early Modern World, HIST20120 Outlaws, supervise undergraduate dissertations, and undertake other teaching and administrative duties as appropriate.
For both posts, it would be desirable for the candidate to be able to contribute to the team-taught unit HIST20089 History in Public and to broader teaching on our Liberal Arts programme and the history of gender.
