PhD Fellowship in Interreligious Studies at the Faculty of Theology
A Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship (SKO 1352) in Linguistic Explorations beyond Language is available at the Department of Linguistics and Scandinavian Studies (ILN), University of Oslo.
The position is associated with the Super Linguistics Research Group (https://www.hf.uio.no/iln/english/research/groups/super-linguistics/index.html) and is funded by the faculty of Humanities.
The candidate is expected to present a research project with clear relevance for the emerging field of ‘Super Linguistics’, defined as the application of formal linguistic methodology (and methodology inspired by formal linguistics, especially from the perspective of syntax, semantics and the syntax-semantics interface) to diverse non-standard objects (such as gestures, music, dance, non-verbal pictorial representations, animal calls, etc.). Of specific interest are interdisciplinary proposals that combine formal linguistic approaches with approaches from areas such as (but not limited to) musicology, psychology, ethology, cognitive science, human movement science, robotics, or informatics. We seek strongly motivated, competent and internationally oriented candidates, with high-ranking qualifications in their relevant area of research.
The position is available for a period of 2 years.
The successful candidate is expected to become part of the research environment/network of the department and contribute to its development. The main purpose of postdoctoral research fellowships is to qualify researchers for work in higher academic positions within their disciplines.
