CONSORTIUM ON THE REVOLUTIONARY ERA, 1750-1850
Florida State University will be hosting the annual conference of the Consortium on the Revolutionary Era, 1750-1850, in Tallahassee, at the Doubletree hotel. The Consortium (CRE) provides a venue for the presentation of original research on any topic related to the period 1750-1850 in any geographical location. Although historians of Europe and the Atlantic World are a large, regular presence in the Consortium, we welcome presentations from professors, graduate students, and independent scholars working in a variety of disciplines, from a variety of comparative perspectives. 2020 marks the fiftieth anniversary of the Consortium: an ideal moment for reflecting on the past and future of the field.
This year’s keynote speakers will be Marcela Echeverri, Associate Professor of History at Yale University; Christy Pichichero, Associate Professor of History at George Mason University; and Eric Weider, owner of Gallery 19c in Beverly Hills, California.
We welcome proposals for full conference sessions including both standard sessions (three twenty-minute papers, plus a chair and a commentator) and roundtables (five or six ten-minute presentations). We will also consider individual paper proposals and will work to construct sessions out of those.
