Dori Laub Fellowship
Doctoral students (doctoral candidates) currently enrolled in PhD or DPhil programs are invited to apply for the Dori Laub Fellowship for Doctoral Student Research. These fellowships support graduate students who will use the Fortunoff Video Archive as a primary resource in their dissertation research.
Only applicants demonstrating a need for in-depth consultation of Fortunoff Video Archive materials will receive serious consideration. The research fellowship provides an allowance of $4,000. These funds are to be used to cover travel and related expenses to a Fortunoff access site, and other related travel to conduct archival research for a dissertation.
Application
Graduate students seeking a fellowship must be currently enrolled in a PhD/doctoral program and must have completed their course work, passed their qualifying examinations, and be conducting research based upon an approved dissertation prospectus/proposal.
Applicants are required to submit the following materials:
- a curriculum vitae
- a proposal (1200 word maximum) explaining in detail the specific relationship between the Fortunoff Video Archive and the applicant’s research
- two confidential letters of recommendation, one of which must come from the principal director of the applicant’s dissertation
- an approved dissertation prospectus/proposal
Please note that the application cannot be submitted partially, the application and the attachment must be submitted together.

Awards will be announced approximately four weeks following application deadlines.
